Alvaro Odriozola joined Real Madrid in the 2018 season for a hefty transfer fee. He played regularly under Julen Lopetegui. Odriozola was also part of the Spain squad for the 2018 World Cup. He has made four appearances for Spain National Team and scored one goal. Odriozola played 17 matches in for Real Madrid in 2018. In 2019, he only featured five times for Real Madrid.
Alvaro Odriozola is the ultimate solution for defensive problems of Bayern Munich. He will solve many of Bayern’s problems at a stroke. Moreover, he will give the club the flexibility to pursue its major transfer goals in the summer. Odriozola got the no.2 shirt at Bayern.
Real Madrid also have Ashraf Hakimi who is on loan at the Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund is trying to get the Los Blancos Right Back on a permanent basis. However, Madrid intends to bring him back in the summer of 2020. Alvaro Odriozola has agility in his game. He has the pace and ability to run through the opposition offensively. His defensive work rate is also very good. In Madrid, his tie is against the no.1 Spanish Right Back, Dani Carvajal.
Competition With Carvajal:
Dani Carvajal is enjoying a good season under Zidane. He played in 24 matches this season as an undisputed starter. Carvajal already has 5 assists and a goal in his pocket. Interestingly, Real Madrid spent 72 million euros on Right Backs. However, none of them were able to challenge Dani Carvajal. Carvajal managed to bench Arbeloa and became a regular starter under Ancelotti. Neither Danilo nor Odriozola did well enough to compete with Dani. Madrid kept buying Right Backs to challenge Dani Carvajal and then compelled to put them on the transfer list for a loaned or permanent move.
